Study Of Spheres

The main wood in this piece is California Buckeye Burl. The specimen is a root structure, growing around rocks and dirt, which gives reason for the large void near the top. The free-form twisting movement contrasts the progressive stack of wood spheres dyed black. Hidden fasteners firmly join the spheres together and to the burl. 21″ tall, 11″ wide, 5″ deep.
