This is a single plank of dyed and laminated birch wood, cut in two pieces and sculpted to match. The grooves are a helix: a winding single line from top to bottom. The forms represent two opposing and independent bodies whose beauty is multiplied when matched together. The solid steel base makes this piece very stable. The steel legs are eight inches long, inserted deeply into the base and wood, fastened beneath.
