Testimonials

I came across Salem Barker’s work on social media and was intrigued by his passion and love of his art of sculpting in fine, rare woods and stone. I found Salem to be one of the most innovative artists revealing the beauty of nature and pushing the limits of wood today. I immediately identified with his art and purchased a beautiful black walnut sculpture that depicts a timeline of stress and relaxation. The piece is absolutely gorgeous and is proudly displayed in my home. Wood may be one of the oldest and most commonplace art materials, but it’s full of surprises. I’m looking forward to see what other surprises Salem will reveal in my next piece of art. Thanks Salem for sharing your story.

When I first witnessed Salem’s pieces at the “One of a Kind” show in Chicago, I was memorized by one particular piece which he had carved out of a large orange alabaster stone. After asking him about his work as a sculptor using varying woods and stones I was left with a sense of the passion he experienced in forming his pieces. As I continued to walk throughout the show that day all I could think about was that orange alabaster sculpture! I was worried I was going to go back to Salem’s booth and the piece would have been sold. Thankfully it became mine! I love this piece of art! It sits in my living room as a center piece to all the other art that surrounds it. This piece is a constant reminder, for me, as to where I came from and to whom I belong. Thank you Salem, I am truly an honored fan of your God given talents and passions.

I first met Salem at the big Sculpture in the Park show in Loveland, CO, and was immediately taken by his art.

Since then, Salem has created two world class sculptures for me. They make me smile every day.

In addition, it is a pleasure working with him. He is bright and engaged.

I recommend him highly as both a talented artist and wonderful person.

Dear Salem, The piece arrived and is even nicer than the pictures. I especially liked the place where the two sides almost come together, but not quite. I’m very pleased.
