This beautiful form is one that I’ve experimented with several times in various wood types. Australian Myrtle is a heavily figured wood with areas of burl clusters, and shimmers with iridescent depth throughout the whole sculpture. The color is reddish/violet, which hardly shows with my novice photography. The base is made of dyed maple wood.
